Caro Lee Cole

Caro Lee Cole, 90, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2018. Caro was the son of the late William Bryson and Texanna Hutchinson Cole. Caro is preceded in death by three brothers; Otis, Wade and Frank Cole and one sister; Emeline Frizzell.

Caro, known as an entrepreneur and business owner, worked in electronics repairs and service; in horticulture as a commercial tomato and strawberry producer and in agriculture as a commercial dairy farmer for over 65 plus years. Caro was also a skilled welder, mechanic and carpenter. Caro’s favorite occupation was farming, and he loved nothing more than being on a tractor planting, bringing in the harvest and operating the dairy.

Caro was a member of the Webster Baptist Church and served as a deacon there.

Caro is survived by his wife of 69 years; Mildred Carpenter Cole and a son; Harold Lee Cole.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Appalachian Funeral Services with Revs. Scott Carter, David Powell and Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Guestbook

To hear about my last uncle certainly saddens me beyond words. However, knowing his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, I know he is in heaven with other family members and does not have any lingering pain and anguish. I feel sadness for his wife of almost 70 years and know she will feel the loneliness of him no longer being with her. They were an admirable couple and I am fortunate to have had them as my relatives. May God bless Mildred and Harold and be with them in this time. My love, Joyce

My love and prayers to Mildred and Harold. Caro was such a kind, sweet, hardworking soul. Could not have ask for a better friend and neighbor to my grandparents and to our family. He was a special man who will be deeply missed by many.

Our hearts are broken to hear of our dear Brothers passing. First time we remember seeing Caro pulling the rope for the bell at Webster Baptist Church. He was always friendly and upbeat with his quick big smile. We pray, Mildred that God through His Holy Spirit will comfort you and your family at this time. We have always loved you two and thought the world of you. Love & prayers, Frank and Missy Nottingham.
