Edward Stewart Pittman

Edward Stewart Pittman, Jr., age 73 of Sylva. passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020.   He was born on July 20, 1947, in Jackson County, NC to the late Edward Sr. and Edna (Fisher) Pittman.

He enjoyed family, friends, camping, Nascar, and McDonalds. He was a Deacon, Sunday School Director and teacher, at Ochre Hill Baptist Church.  He also coached youth basketball and retired from Verizon telephone company.

Eddie will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Eunice (Monteith); children, Stephanie (Steve) Smith, Jodi (Corey) Middleton, Dell Pittman; sister, Susie Cope; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Tanner Middleton, Abby Grace Pittman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ruth Potts Parris (Norman); brother, Paige (Jo) Pittman; and brother-in-law, Dan.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC
