I met Ricky years ago when we were young and hung out at the skating rink .. He was such a sweet guy.... Thoughts and prayers for you and family ..

To The Family, I did not know M. Ricky Harold Cogdill. nor do I know his family, but at times like this I think of one of the many segments that made up God's original plan for mankind, that of showing love for one another. (Leviticus 19:18) As a volunteer minister I read obituaries columns on a regular basis. My goal is to make an earnest effort to comfort the surviving family members during their grieving period. No words will ever take away the pain of losing a loved one in death. But I pray that God will hold each of you in his loving arms and bring you comfort. Please keep in mind: "God is for us a refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." (Psalm 46:1). I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Mr. Terry

To The Family, There are no words powerful enough to express sorrow felt concerning the passing of your loved one. By sacrificing his perfect human life for us Jesus Christ provided the ransom needed to redeem humankind from sin and death. Jesus' death also paved the way for us to be comforted when a loved one falls asleep in death. (John 3:16) One day soon we will no longer experience the pain of losing our loved ones to that ugly enemy death. (1 Corinthians 15:26) In the near future there will be a reuniting, yes, a bringing back to life instead of losing life. (John 5:28,29) Until then, may this promise from The Almighty and His Son give you peace and calm your aching hearts. Please accept my deepest sympathy Sincerely,

I am so sad to hear about Rick, my thoughts and prayers to the family. I will always remember him and the good times we shared together. He was a good man that will be missed. Although we had been in touch lately, we never got to get together in person to catch up. Love, Peggy Taylor Buchanan

Im grateful to have spent some time with him when Ivan and I came for a visit this fall. He showed great pride in North Carolina and was eager to show us its beauty. He was gracious and welcoming. I will always remember what a great day we had driving to capture the Smoky Mountains fall colors. RIP Rick, you will be missed.

Our prayers and condolences go out to the Cogdill family. We worked with Mr. Cogdill for many years at Lanesboro Correctional Institution in the food service department. He was a good, loving person with a very humble spirit. He would always do whatever he could to assist his co-workers. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and he is resting in the arms of the Almighty now, with no more pain or sickness. Rest in peace, for you have found eternal rest in your heavenly home. Family, continue to hold on to God's unchanging hand, and he will give you the strength to continue on. Our prayers are with you.
