Robert Lee Dills

Robert Lee Dills, 82, of Cullowhee, passed away Friday morning August 28, 2020. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County he was the son of the late Selma Dills. A member of Black Mountain Baptist Church, Robert was the oldest living Deacon at the Church and had been a Deacon since 1967. He was in charge of the Christmas plays for many years, he cleaned and maintained the Church grounds as well as mowing and upkeeping  Pine Ridge Cemetery, for which he was treasurer for as well.  Robert retired from Western Carolina University as Supervisor of Housing. Everything he loved was about the Church and his family. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his wife Maxine. 

He is survived by his children;

Keith (Rose Marie) Dills of Cullowhee

Mickey (Sandra) Dills of Cullowhee

Freda Stevens of Cullowhee

7 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren

1 Sister- Peggy Cook of Asheville

The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon August 30, 2020 at Appalachian Funeral Services from 2:00 till 3:00 pm.  All other Services will be private
