Alberta Shook

Alberta Melton Sorrells Shook, 86, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday evening November 3, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lonie Mathis Melton. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and she enjoyed quilting, sewing and raising flowers. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband; Pete Sorrells, her second husband; Dee Shook, stepson; Billy Sorrells, stepdaughter; Ila Mae Franks and her brother; Ray Melton She is survived by her son- Bobby Sorrells of Sylva Grandson- Zachary (Megan) Sorrells of Sylva Great Granddaughter- Vivian Rose Step Daughters- Becky Austin and Betty Graham Granddaughter- Kay Franks Sister-in-Law- Suzie Melton And several step grandchildren also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday November 8, 2018 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell, Keith Ashe, Wesley Hooper and Steve Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
