Alonzo Benjamin Dills

Alonzo Benjamin Dills, 83, passed away on September 30, 2024.

Alonzo was a loving and caring individual who was always known as a good neighbor with a wonderful sense of humor. He was an outdoors enthusiast with a deep love for fishing, but his kind nature was demonstrated by giving away his catches. Alonzo proudly worked for mountain projects where he never missed a day of work; however, was late once. He was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church.

Left to cherish Alonzo’s memory are his sons Robert Dills and wife Donna; and Timonthy Dills and Sherry; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings Sterling Dills, Ethal Keener, Mary Cook, Irene Coggins, and Catherine Cantsel; and special friend Janie Farmer.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 2:00pm at Black Mountain Baptist Church with pastor Jason Stephens officiating; a visitation will be held one hour prior. A graveside service to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery of Cullowhee, NC.
