Amber Chantel Lutz

Amber Chantel Lutz of Sylva, North Carolina, passed away on February 6, 2025. 

Amber was a vibrant and infectious spirit, known for her smile that could light up any room. She had a deep love for the mountains and enjoyed hiking, paddling, fishing, and all things Pittsburgh. Amber never met a stranger. She was kind to everyone she encountered and loved fiercely. She also took great pride in her Scot-Irish heritage. Amber’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her son, Tyler of Waynesville, NC; her mother, Kim Gillespie of Waynesville, NC; her stepfather, Darin Gillespie of Mint Hill, NC; her brothers, Joey Gillespie of Mint Hill, NC, and Philip Gillespie of Monroe, NC; and her boyfriend, Jason McGinnis of Sylva, NC. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva, NC, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. and burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life reception will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Innovation Station in Dillsboro, NC.
