Barbara Ann Hewel

Barbara Ann  Hewel of Sylva, NC, flew away to the arms of Jesus, on September 20, 2019.  She was born in Nassau County, Long Island, NY on 10/9/42. Bobby was raised from the age of 9, in Richmond NH, a small town of 374 residents. She enjoyed TV, coloring in childrens color books and watching Disney cartoons. She loved her stuffed toys, especially the cats & dogs.

She retired with her parents in 1975 to Middleburg, Florida; then moved to Jackson County in June 2002. She was the daughter of Blanche LaTourette Hewel (d. 4/20/07) and John William Hewel (d. 1/8/03), Her beloved brother John William Hewel Jr., died 5/1/15.

Surviving are four sisters, Wilma Assetta (Gaetano) of Burlington, MA., Catherine Christensen of The Hermitage, Sylva, NC.; Nancy Lorimer Hewel (S-I-L) of Deptford NJ., and Gloria Stockton (Herald) of Sylva, NC. 

The family is so very thankful for Bobby’s dear friends and care givers at Morningstar. She loved her home there!  A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
