Barbara Ward

Barbara Ward, 64, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2026, peacefully at home.

She was born on August 1, 1961, in Sleep Hollow, NY to Janet Sloan Steele and she was predeceased by her father Robert Sloan. Barbara was known for her kindness, humor, generosity, and strength. She lived her life guided by faith and touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm spirit, laughter, and caring heart left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.

Barbara is survived by her mother, Janet Steele, and her two brothers Paul and Peter Sloan and nephew Graeme and niece Lucy. She loved dearly her stepchildren Tamarya Ward and Josh Ward and step grandchildren & great grandchildren Barbara deeply cherished their time spent together.

Barbara was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara had recently dealt with a series of medical issues and hospital stays including major back surgery and seemed to be recovering well.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
