Becky Chastain Reeves

Becky Chastain Reeves, age 59, Waynesville, was taken by angels to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Haywood Regional Medical Center of Clyde, NC. Becky was a native of Jackson County, born December 13, 1962, in Sylva, NC. For the past 7.5 years, she resided in Haywood County. She is the daughter of the late Lyman Chastain and Betty Jean (McNeely) Chastain.

She was the city president of United Community Bank in Sylva. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, helping people, and listening to rock and roll. She was known for her beautiful hair and smile, motherly love, and true kindness like no other.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her grandmothers, Nancy Jane Chastain and Lucy Barnes; her grandfather, Don Chastain; an aunt, Frances Jolicoeur; three uncles, James, Connie, and John Richard Chastain; her grandmother, Nancy Jane Chastain; and a special family friend, Ray Sutton.

She is survived by her husband, Darin Reeves; a daughter, Niki Sutton; a stepson, Scott Reeves; two sisters, Lisa Chastain and Deb Ray; a brother, Keith Chastain; a mother-in-law, Brenda Teague Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; three step grandchildren, Matheu, Abigail, and Brayln Reeves; and her two grand-dogs, Aspen and Denver.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva on Sunday, February 20, at 3:00 pm. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Wike Cemetery.
