Billy Ray Sneed

Billy Ray Sneed, age 70 of Sylva NC, passed away on Friday July 22, 2022.   He was born on March 18, 1952, in Jackson County, to the late Robert and Geneva “Mabel” (Hoyle) Sneed. 

Billy was an avid deer hunter and loved to cook.  You could always count on Billy to tell some good tales and do some cuttin’ up. He was loved dearly by his family.

He will be missed by his loving children, Carlena (Jeff) Warren, Stephanie (Sheyenne) Lanning; siblings, Ruth (Gene) Settlemeyer, Mike Sneed, Gladys (Gerald) Green, Kathy (Terry) Ashe; grandchildren, Angela (Jerry) Lanning, Dakota (Jason) Dillard, Lakyn Lanning, Ciara Lanning, Cayden Ray Lanning; significant other, Brenda Sneed; dear friends, Larry Ledford, Josh Ledford, Bruce Crews, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Sneed; and sister-in-law, Marcia Sneed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM- 8:00PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC. A Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Funeral Home, with Revs. Earl Holden and Tim Dillard, officiating.  Interment will follow at Love Cemetery. Pallbearers, Sheyenne Lanning, Jerry Lanning, Larry Ledford, Josh Ledford, Jason Dillard, Jimmy Sneed.   Honorary pallbearers, Cayden Ray Lanning and Bruce Crews, Jr.
