Bonnie Crawford Hooper, age 84 of Cullowhee, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 28, 2022. She was born on October 24, 1937, in Jackson County, to the late Alvin and Ollie (Stewart) Crawford.
Bonnie retired from the WCU Controller’s Office. She was a lifelong member of Cullowhee Baptist Church. Bonnie’s heart was filled with compassion and hospitality. She travelled on Christian Tours and helped cook meals for the homeless and the staff of the Cullowhee Fire Department. She was also very talented, creative, and loved to work with her hands. She made quilts for nursing homes and was an original member of the Carolina Quilters.
She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Terry Taylor; son-in-law, Russell Taylor; grandson, Steven (Chassidy) Taylor; sister, Billy Jones; sister-in-laws, Roberta Crawford, Edna Crisp, Audrey Moore; special niece, Ann Hall; special friend, Shirley Simpson; and future great-grandchild, Baby Taylor.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Austin Hooper; and siblings, Frances Deitz, Betty Jo Moses, Helen Smith, and Ted Crawford.
A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Sylva NC. Revs. Jeffrey Vickery and Jack Henson, officiating.
