Bruce Alan Christy, 65, of Sylva, passed away Thursday May 15, 2014 at his residence. A native of New York he was the son of the late Donald and Catherine Higgins Christy. Mr. Christy was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran having served during the Viet Nam Era. He had been a correctional officer in Florida for 13 years and most recently a game tech at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Alice Simmons Christy

Jeremiah (Nikki) of Hattiesburg, MS
5 Grandsons- Alexander, Andrew, Seth, Erik and Whyatt

Sharon Christy Newling of Salisbury, NC
