Carolyn Ann Worley Blanton, 74 of Whittier, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. Carolyn was born in Jackson County on May 19, 1947, to the late James Alfred Worley and Annie Sue Worley.
Carolyn owned and operated Qualla Beauty Salon. She was a member of the board of trustees at Southwestern Community College. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. During her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of Bryson City United Methodist Church. Carolyn will be missed by many.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Susan Blanton Been of Atlanta, GA; son, Jeff J. Blanton (Amy) of Johns Creek, GA; grandchildren, Katherine Been of Bronxville, NY, Wils Been of Atlanta, GA, Beau, Zach, and Matt Blanton all of Johns Creek, GA; sister, Mary Worley of Charlotte, NC; brother, Jim Worley of Sylva, NC. Also surviving are two nieces, Marianne Parris (Mark), and Amy Simsic; nephew, Gabe Worley; and aunt, Margaret Worley Crowe.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her Husband Robert Smith Blanton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday January 5, 2022, at Bryson City United Methodist Church. Rev. David Russell and Rev. Wayne Dickert will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-1:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Worley Family Cemetery in Whittier, NC.
