Christine Shook Turpin

Christine Shook Turpin, 94 of Sylva, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1931, in Jackson County, NC to the late Nicholas and Dora Denton Shook. Christine was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church.

 Christine is survived by her children, Phillip Turpin, Wanda Anders (Michael), John Turpin (Kay), Rachel Frizzell (Pete), Walter Turpin, and Gene Hill who was like a son; grandchildren, Kim Watson, Chris Turpin, Tiffany Eagleman (Jay), Stacy Hyatt (Heath), Brody Frizzell (Maegen), Trenton Turpin (Suzanne); 12 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her husband Gene Turpin and 10 brothers and sisters. 

 A private service will be held at a later date.
