Connie Lee Hawkins

Connie Lee Bumgarner Hawkins 84 of Cashiers, North Carolina died peacefully on Sunday, May 11 while in hospice care, after a period of declining health.

Connie was born on October 1, 1940 to the late Clyde Bumgarner and Alean Bryson Bumgarner. She married Thomas Blane Hawkins in January of 1960. They were married for fifty-one years.

Connie is survived by one son, Keven Hawkins.

She was a member of Cashiers Baptist Church for sixty-five years, serving as church choir director for many years. Connie was well known for her beautiful singing voice and her love for music. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Cashiers Baptist Church with the Rev. Hayward Tomblin officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Upper Zachary Cemetery.
