Cynthia Brooks

Cynthia Anne McClure Brooks, 66 of Whittier died Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Angel Medical center in Franklin.

Cindy was born in Asheville on May 24, 1960, to the late Charlie and Betty McClure where she grew up in the Addie community. She is survived by the love of her life Michael Brooks of their home in the Barkers Creek community, two sons Ryan (Elizabeth) of Tuckasegee and Jared (Hannah) of Chesnee, SC, and four grandchildren, Sawyer, Lawson, Selah, and Jonah. Also surviving her are brother Ricky McClure and Sister Rita Cruzan.

Cindy was a people person who never met a stranger; she loved to talk to anyone who was willing. She loved to sing at church, cooking for her family, decorating her home for any season, working in her many flower gardens, crocheting, and taking care of her grandchildren as well as a few other children that were very special to her.

The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm. Rev. Josh Hyde and Rev. Gene Ridley will be officiating.
