Daphene Mews Stancill, age 75 of Atlanta, GA, passed away November 23, 2023 in Sylva, NC.
She was born February 4, 1948 in Newport News, VA, to Boyce & Lois (Slagle) Mews.
Daphene was a free-spirit with a kind, loving and giving soul. She always lit up the room just by being there.
She was quite the entertainer, sharing funny stories of events in her life that kept us all laughing.
Daphene was a highly intelligent, unique thinker and a prolific reader of many subjects. She loved to have fun and laugh, play with her dogs, and cheer for the Atlanta Braves.
She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Mikki Guffey and Jean Mews, nieces Shannon Barnes (Andy) and Ashley Timer (Miguel Martinez), great nephew Tyler Jones, and great niece Dezaree Timer, along with extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Stancill, her parents, sisters Sharon and Dawn Mews, and great nephew, Dillan Guy.
Daphene wanted no memorial services.
