Doi Hoa Thai

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doi Hoa Thai, a husband, father, and friend, who left this world on Monday, June 16th, 2025, at the age of 59. 

Doi was a resident of Sylva, North Carolina, where he and his family built a life  A craftsman at heart, Doi was well-known for being the go-to handyman, not only for his family but also for his friends. 

Doi had a particular fondness for beaches, where he could relax and enjoy the ocean. He had an ability to connect with people from all walks of life, always appreciating the differences in backgrounds and languages.

Doi cherished his role as a dedicated father and husband. He is survived by his wife Moi Ngoc Dinh and two sons, Maxime and Maximillian Thai,  He was preceded in death by his father, Uoi Van Thai and mother, Chi Thi Tran, both whom he held dearly in his memories.

Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Doi's life at Appalachian Funeral Services on Sunday, June 22, 2025 with a funeral service planned at 230pm. The family will host a visitation from 1pm-230pm preceding the funeral service. Burial is planned following the funeral at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Sylva, NC.
