Donna Sue Austin Ashe

Donna Sue Austin Ashe, 59, of Sylva, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Donna was a native of Jackson County and a daughter of the late Vardie Eugene and Linda Sue Sutherland Austin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Cornelious Ashe III; an infant daughter, Josie Rae Ashe; and a brother, Jimmy Lee Austin.

She loved sewing, sitting outside, spending time with her family, and God.

Donna is survived by two sons, Cornelious Ashe IV (Shelby) and Joshua Ashe (Nicky); a daughter, Nikki Luker (Chad); two sisters, Robin Mathis (Kelly) and Sherry Ward; and four grandchildren, Hailey Luker, Harley Ashe, Everleigh Ashe, and Josie Rae Ashe.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverend Travis Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Wilmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
