Doris Luker Franks

Doris Luker Franks, 84, of Tuckasegee, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.

She was born on August 9, 1942 to the late Ralph and Della Shook Luker in Jackson County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Myron Franks; daughter, Tilly Franks; and 6 siblings.

Doris enjoyed gardening, working in flowers, sightseeing, traveling, cooking , picnics and spending time with family. She was a member of Tuckasegee Community Church of God.

Doris is survived by her children, Dwayne Franks (Dawn), Tina Cooper (Billy), Anthony Franks (Margie); 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 11 siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, at Tuckasegee Community Church of God with the Reverends Leonard Luker, Roger Luker, David Luker, and Jason Bryson. Burial will follow at Shook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
