Doug Smith

William (Doug) Smith, age 76 of Sylva, passed away December 23, 2020,  He was the son of the late R. D. Smith and Hazel Middleton Smith.

Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening in the outdoors.  He worked as a store clerk locally for 35 years with A&P.

He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Judy Smith; son, Bryan (Tara) Smith; brother, Joe Michael (Bonnie) Smith; grandchildren, Deborah (Bob) Houston, Star Smith, Colby Smith, Ryleigh Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Bombay, Creedence Bombay; all of Sylva; nephew, James Clinton Smith and niece, Janene K. Smith, both of Waynesville.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Curtis.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
