Douglas Forrest Bryson

Douglas Forrest Bryson, age 82, of Tuckasegee, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 20, 2021. He was the husband of the late Opal Lee Bryson and the son of the late Dewey and Beatrice Bryson.

He was retired from the US Army after serving his country for 29 years. Douglas loved to deer hunt and he dearly loved his family.
He is survived by five children; Kenneth (Beverly) Bryson, Patricia "Sis" (Ethan) Norton, David Bryson, Michael Bryson, and Christopher (April) Bryson and ten grandchildren; Steven (Samantha) Bryson, James Logan, Derek (Sarah) Norton, Justin Bryson, Patrick (Tamara) Norton, LeAnn Bryson, Ashley Bryson, Joseph (Kaitlyn) Bryson, Cheyenne (Troy) Bryson, and Minnie (Broderick) Bryson. Also surviving are 34 great grandchildren and one brother; Dallas Bryson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Appalachian Funeral Services at 1:00 pm with Rev. Earl Holden, Rev. Eddie Stillwell, and Rev. Jason Bryson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery on Caney Fork. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, December 26, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
