Evan Nelson Kelley, Jr. AKA the Bible Man, Born on 11 November 1931 died peacefully in his home on 2 January 2026. He is survived by his ex-wife, Janita Kelley, 2 daughters, Kathleen Macolly and Kara Kelley, grandson, Nathan Macolly (wife Dorothy), and great grandchildren, Hosanna, Faith, and Rael. He dearly loved his family and friends, and among the treasures discovered in his home were numerous Bibles in several languages along with thank you notes of those who had come to Christ or been touched by his Bible distribution and ministry to Hispanics and those in China.

He lived a creative, colorful, and daring life. His imagination was creatively expressed by the book he wrote of his ministry in China "Four Aliens and a Giant in a Forbidden World."

He was a USAF Veteran. He also mentored children as a school librarian at Barret school in Shreveport, La, as well as in the Highland Baptist Church bus ministry. He started several house churches and fellowship churches through the years among Hispanics and Chinese, and retired in his 70s as a real estate Giant at Sapphire Valley resort in North Carolina.

The family will not have a funeral service, but has chosen instead to have a memorial/celebration service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to the Gideons international, Gideons.org, or Far East Broadcasting Company, FEBC.org
