Garry E. Beck

Garry Edward Beck, 64, of Whittier, NC, went to his heavenly home on March 7, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Garry was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Bradley Beck and his parents, Jim and Lorraine Beck.

He retired from Cherokee Mechanical, as an electrician after 40 years of service.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. Garry also enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was an avid sports fan and a huge Tennessee Volunteers fan. Garry also enjoyed watching soccer, the Liverpool F.C. and the Hockey Detroit Red Wings. Sitting around the fire pit with family telling stories and playing games were among the things that he enjoyed.

He was a loving and kind man with a sharp wit and a sense of humor that will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his long-time life partner, Magda; brother, Scott Beck (Tammy); nephew, Andrew Beck (Becky); niece, Brandy Helton (Matt); great-nephews, Elijah and River; great-nieces, Kenzleigh, Lauren, and Eleanor; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Sherrill Cemetery in Whittier with the Reverend Eddie Stillwell officiating.

The family would like to thank the exceptional ICU team at Harris Regional Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion they provided for Garry.
