Grayson Eberly Walls

Our son, the brightest star.

Our beautiful son, Grayson Eberly Walls, passed away on October 24, 2025, at the age of 24.

Grayson filled our lives with love, laughter, sweetness, and entertainment. He spread a tremendous amount of love and kindness to everyone he met and to every animal he came across, saving many. Our greatest joy was the compassion he had for all humankind.

He was a musician. Grayson played the guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Music was his greatest passion, and he had planned to make a future playing, writing, and recording music.

Grayson was born in Richmond, Virginia, on November 28, 2000. He moved to Wiesbaden, Germany with his mother and father at the age of seven, living there for 15 years. Grayson graduated from Wiesbaden High School in 2019 and continued his education at the University of Maryland-Global Campus, earning his associate’s degree in general studies. Grayson also completed a Berklee College of Music program in Perugia, Italy.

At the age of 22, Grayson returned to the United States, moving to Cullowhee, North Carolina in the Smoky Mountains. There he helped his father seek out music instruments and recording equipment to build their dream recording studio.

Grayson is survived by his father and mother, John D. Walls and Mary E. (Betsy) Walls; his maternal grandparents, Donald W. Dow, Jr. and Mary Louise Dow; his maternal uncles and aunts, Donald Dow, III (Theran McNeil), Marti Hooper (Joel Hooper), Douglas Dow, Tina Dow (Kevin Blake), and Sarahann Rackl (Peter Rackl); and his paternal uncles and aunts, Phil Walls (Judy Walls), Jeanna Harris (Peter Harris), Clayton Walls (Dawn Walls), and Kitty Cabana (Don Cabana). He is also survived by his cousins: Joshua Harris, Audrey Taylor, Keaton Walls, Megan Hooper, Ike Hooper, Lauren Cabana, Averly Walls, Cormac Dow, Julia Walls, Austin Cabana, Jacob Dow-Blake, Henry Dow-Blake, and Elisabeth Rackl. Grayson is also survived by many dear friends around the globe. All family and friends cherished him.

If you would like a way to honor Grayson, we would like to suggest a donation to your local chapter of the Humane Society or the SPCA, or to his favorite cat rescue in Cullowhee, Catman2: https://www.catman2.org/

A celebration of life for Grayson will be held this spring, at a date to be determined later, here in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

Grayson, you will always be the brightest star in the sky. We love you.
