Harry "Mike" Duke

Harry Michael "Mike" Duke passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

He was the son of the late Harry and Sarah Sue Norton Duke and the brother to Debbie, Shannon and Dean Duke.

Mike's early years was spent in a residential home for the mentally challenged youth in Kinston, North Carolina. He spent the majority of his life in Jackson County where he worked and retired from Brown Cafeteria on Western Carolina University Campus. Mike was an avid sports fan and could often be seen at any of WCU's sports events. His home in his later years was at Skyland Care Center.

Up until his final days when he wasn't watching his favorite westerns or Braves baseball, he could be found wheeling through the hallways or dining hall "playfully antagonizing" his favorite caregivers.

Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He passed just days after his 75th birthday.
