Helen Janice Bradley

Helen Janice Bradley, born on July 30, 1939, in Jackson County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on August 18 2024. She was a devoted member of her community and family, remembered for her warm spirit and love for those around her.

Helen dedicated 47 years of her professional life to Western Carolina University, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues. A lover of gospel and bluegrass music, Helen found joy in the melodies that accompanied her life. She enjoyed square dancing, which provided her with cherished memories and connections within her community. Helen's personality shone through in all her interactions; she truly loved her family.

She is survived by her children: Curtis Bradley (Julie), Elaine Bennett (Phillip), Donald Bradley, Lora Fox (Randy), and Delores McFalls. Helen was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Her legacy will continue through the love and values she instilled in her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Nute Mace and Sarah Shook Mace, as well as five brothers, one sister, and her daughter, Doris McFalls. The memory of their lives, intertwined with hers, will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her.

A visitation will be held on August 22, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Services located at 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC 28779. A graveside service will take place at Wilmot Baptist Church Cemetery, Whittier, NC 28789, where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Helen's life.

Helen Janice Bradley's unwavering love for her family and her community will always be remembered and cherished.
