James Hogg Paul

Mr. James Paul, age 78, of Glenville NC was unexpectantly taken on Friday January 5, 2024. He was born on August 11, 1945, in Binghamton NY, to the late Kenneth Paul and Nellie (Johnson) Paul.

Jim was a graduate of Fairport High School, Alfred State College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Graduate School of Masters of Business Administration at West Virginia University in Morgantown West Virginia.  A previous longtime resident of Downingtown Pennsylvania, Jim was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and especially Philadelphia Eagles fan. His other interests included classic cars (which he both owned and displayed at car shows), hiking, camping, traveling, reading, sitting in his favorite chair working on a cross word puzzle, enjoying the outdoors and the beauty of nature, and above all else…golfing! One of his proudest achievements was having played at least one round of golf in every one of the 50 United States.

Jim will be sorely and forever missed by his adoring family; the love of his life and wife, Penny; siblings: Dwight Paul and sister-in-law Shirley of St. Petersburg FL, and Patricia (Patsy) Herkert and brother-in-law George of Medford OR; sister in law Cathy Pennett (Glenn) of Calgary, Alberta CA; previous spouse and mother of his children Patricia (Patty) Corrigan (Joe) of Malvern PA; previous
brothers-in-law Ron Mamroe (Dolly) and Tim Mamroe (Carol); nieces and nephews: Stephen Paul (Amy), Audrey Loughlin (Tom), Christopher Mamroe (Melody), Kerry Estes (Ken), Valerie (Rick) Robinson, Mandy, Mellisa, Brett; children: Cara Fitzgerald (fiancé Jason), Jay Scott Fitzgerald (Deanna); grandchildren: Emma, Kylan, Amelia; friends Mike and Mark, and his loving son, Nathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Norbert; his sister in law Debbie Mitchell; and his first born son, Christian.
