Jayne Sossamon Gillett
January 21, 1955 — November 28, 2021
Jayne Sossamon Gillett, 66, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning November 28, 2021, after a period of declining health. A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Sr. and Nancy Allison Sossamon.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother Boyd ( Lynda) Sossamon Jr of Sylva
Son- Josh (Tabatha) Gillett of Sylva
Daughter- Amy (Ernie) Scherman of Sylva
Granddaughters- Layla, Autumn (Jake) Porter, Lyndsay
Grandson- Brody (Kenzie)
Great Grandchildren- Sophia, Clayton
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm Thursday December 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Ernie Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 12:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Keener Cemetery.
