Jeane Curts Moody

Jeane Curts Moody, 90, of Sylva, North Carolina, passed away on August 18, 2026. She was born on March 8, 1936, in Cardington, Ohio, to the late Homer W. Curts and Edith Morton Curts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Curts and Robert Curts, and her sister, Barbara Curts Bowman. She is survived by her twin brother, James Curts, and her brother, William Curts.

She was married to her husband, Ted Carroll Moody, for 71 years. Also surviving are her two daughters, Susan Moody Simpson (Tom) of Greensboro, NC, Lori Moody George (Jeff) of Waxhaw, NC, her son, David Lee Moody (Laura) of Charlotte, NC, and four grandchildren, Richard Simpson, Jonathan Simpson, David Moody Jr., and Kathryn Moody, and five great-grandchildren.

Jeane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, and reading. Jeane will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and the many lives she touched.

The family will hold a private graveside service.
