Jennifer Sue Lorenzen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on February 21, 1951, Jennifer lived a life overflowing with love, creativity, and compassion for everyone she met.
On April 24, 1971, Jennifer married the love of her life, Gerald Allen Lorenzen. Together, they shared more than five decades of love and devotion.
Throughout her life, Jennifer worked in a variety of roles that reflected her dedication and strong work ethic. She served as a secretary, drove a school bus, and later worked as a medical transcriptionist. In each position, she was known for her reliability, attention to detail, and caring nature toward those she served.
Jennifer had a gift for making others feel special. Her warmth, patience, and generosity touched the lives of neighbors, friends, and even strangers. . She loved traveling, whether it was a big family vacation or a simple weekend getaway, always savoring the chance to explore new places and make new memories.
Jennifer also had a deep love for music, especially praise and worship, which brought her comfort, joy, and inspiration throughout her life. She found peace in singing along to her favorite songs and sharing that joy with others. Her love extended to her animals as well — she adored her many dogs and her cat, each of them holding a special place in her heart.
A talented homemaker and artist at heart, Jennifer enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cooking.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Lorenzen; her three children, Fred (Vicki) Lorenzen, Jody (John) Canfield, and Linda (Scott) Radcliff; her cherished grandchildren Samantha, Dakota, Sebastian, Daniel, Douglas, Jennifer, John, Libby, Kaleigh, and Zachary; and her seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Gil (Carol Quinell) Wingate, Connie Graver (Dennis Zahn), and Terrie Wingate; brother- and sister-in-law, Rick (MaryAnn) Lorenzen and Cheryl Beal (Joe). Along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and RuthAnn (Dougherty) Wingate; her Father and Mother in law, Gerald and Shirley (Stader) Lorenzen.Jennifer leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, and countless stories that will be told and retold for generations.
A memorial of her life will held on Sunday August 24th at 4:30 at Live Forgiven Church, 45 Crown Ridge Road Sylva, NC. She will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
