Jesse Jones Franklin

Jesse Jones Franklin, 78 of Sylva, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He was born on January 3, 1945 to the late Jess and Myrtle Jones Franklin. Jesse enjoyed singing gospel music, going to church, working on cars, and most of all spending time with family. Jesse loved the Lord. He was a member of Sunrise House of Worship.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Franklin; son, Dale Franklin (Tinker); daughter, Angie Jarrar; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Jones, Wanda Griffin, Alice Phillips; brother, Dewey Franklin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Jesse is preceded in death by his son, Thomas “Frog” Franklin; brothers, Arthur and Philip Franklin.

Jesse will lie is state at Appalachian Funeral Services on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 10:00am-3:00pm.
