John Henry Norman

John Henry Norman, 73, of Sylva, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was the son of the late Charles William and Lillie Mae Jackson Norman.

John was a Sylva- Webster High Basketball standout in the sixties.  He was inducted into the Jackson County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Norman Jr., and George Norman and one sister Sherron Ann Norman.

Surviving are one daughter, Sonya Howell, one niece Crystal Norman and two nephews Dion and Christopher Denmark of Florida.

Memorial Celebration will be held June 13, 2023, 4:00-7:00pm at Mark Watson Park of Sylva, NC. Rev. Charles Lee and Rev. Wanda Moore will be officiating.
