Joseph Burch

Joseph “Joe” Burch, age 77, of Sylva passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home. He was the son of the late Delous and Matilda Burch.

Joe was a member of New Savannah Baptist Church. He loved to volunteer with Jackson County delivering meals on wheels and firewood. He dearly loved his family and would help anyone who had a need.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and their wives; Ernest and Geneva Burch, Lyda and Delores Burch and Verlin and Geraldine Burch, along with one brother-in-law; Mack Johnson.

He is survived by two brothers; Rev. David (Evelyn) Burch and Jimmy (Darlene) Burch, and one sister; Bessie Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Burch Cemetery on Burch Road with Rev. Tommy Ashe officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service at the home adjacent to the cemetery.
