Joseph F. Bushey

Joseph F. Bushey, age 78, of Whittier died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Westcare Harris of Sylva, NC. Mr. Bushey was born May 20, 1936 in Harrisburg , PA. He is the son of the late Joseph F. X. and the late Clara (McCleaf) Bushey. Joseph graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1954 and from Mt. St. Mary's College in 1958, and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. He worked for the PA State Police for 25 years, and for the Cumberland Township Police Dept. for 9 years. He served as a Battlefield Guide in Gettysburg, PA for 20 years. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Cherokee. He is survived by his wife: Linda (Hinkle) Bushey ; three children, Joseph E. Bushey, Ben Pitzer, and Becky Taylor; five grandchildren: Rachel Reisinger, Hunter Taylor, Mason Pitzer, Cameron Pitzer, and Lillian Bushey; and three sisters, Joan Powers and Barbara Jordan, both of Whittier, and Patricia Bushey of Gettysburg, PA.. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Father Shawn O'Neal officiating, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Cherokee. . .
