Joyce Deitz Fisher

Joyce Fisher, 79, passed away peacefully at her home on July 28, 2026 after an extended illness.

Joyce was the daughter of the late Jerry Jackson and Faye Alexander Deitz.

She was preceded in death by her son Daniel (Dan) Fisher Jr.; sisters, Barbara Cretosos (Jim), and Betty Leon; brothers, Jack Deitz and James (Jim) Deitz (Pat); nephew, Chris Crestsos.

Joyce is survived by her husband of sixty years, Danny Fisher Sr. She also leaves behind sons, Stephen Fisher (Lori), and Nathan (Stuart); Nephews, Maurice Crestsos (Dawn), Kevin Cretsos, Alex Cretsos, Stephen Failor, and Alexis Quaska (Emily); nieces, Sharon Deitz Failor, Kara Gaye Deitz, Megan Failor and Lauren Failor; daughter-in-law, Laurel Allen Fisher; Sister-in-law, Sue Deitz.

She was the proud Nana to Natalie Fisher Ward (David), Chase Fisher (Karly), Charlotte Fisher, Hayes Fisher, Kendell Fisher, Bennett Fisher, and Mary Weston Fisher.

Joyce started to work for Contel Telephone Company in 1966 as an operator and later a supervisor. She retired from GTE Telephone Company as a programmer and Customer Service Assistant. After retirement she started her own telephone consulting business and worked for several telephone companies mainly on the east coast.

During retirement Joyce enjoyed socializing with friends and family, vacation trips to Cape Hatteras and painting with her favorite media being acrylics. She also enjoyed giving her paintings away.

At Joyce’s request there will be no formal services. A family memorial will be held at a later time.
