JV Miller, 80, of Whittier, passed away Sunday December 1, 2019. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert Glenn and Mary Alice Miller. JV was a carpenter by trade and also did rock and brick mason work. He enjoyed going hunting and camping but loved spending time with his family especially his great grandson. He was a Member of Wilmont Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 3 of his sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Ashe Miller

2 Daughters; Mary (Cale) Wilson of Sylva

                      Teresa (Mickey) Rathbone of Whittier

2 Granddaughters; Brittany (Blake) Hawkins and Bethany Cagle

Great Grandson- Rylan

2 Sisters- Helen McCall of Balsam and Linda Duncan of Bethel, NC

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Wilmont Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Ray Davis, Eddie Stillwell and Austin Frady officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 3, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 at Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial will be in Wilmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wilmont Cemetery Fund, In memory of JV Miller, c/o Belva Ham, 268 Sley Hollar Rd, Whittier, NC 28789
