Yvette passed away unexpectedly due to health complications on April 1, 2025. She is proceeded in death by her parents Swann Mickey McClure and Janice Davis Houston and beloved grandparents. Yvette is survived by two sisters, Marcia McClure and Barbara Roberts. She leaves behind many special friends and beloved rescue dogs.

Yvette was raised in Bryson City, North Carolina and made a career as a massage therapist. Yvette enjoyed trips to the beach to hunt for sharks teeth and take photographs. She loved supporting community fundraisers and engaging in political banter. She was very involved in local animal rescue efforts. Over the years, she adopted numerous dogs from PAWS Animal Shelter in Bryson City, The Jackson County Animal Shelter and ARF. Yvette's home became a sanctuary for senior dogs known as Camp Crazy Senior Living Facility. She was incredibly dedicated to caring for elderly dogs that had health concerns, behavioral concerns or were discarded simply because they were old. We know that she had a pack of her favorite dogs waiting for her when she crossed out of this physical world. Yvette had a special affinity for quirky dogs and people.

A celebration of Yvette's life will be held at a later date.
