Kay Jones Desormeaux
March 8, 1961 — December 25, 2022
Kay Jones Desormeaux, age 61 of Sylva NC, passed away on Sunday December 25, 2022. She was born on March 8, 1961, in Jackson County, to the late Annas and Peggy Crawford Jones.
Kay attended Mars Hill College and was a distinguished graduate of N.C. Principal Fellows, with a master’s degree in education. She enjoyed woodworking, camping, auctions and flea markets. Kay loved watching sports. She was a NASCAR fan.
She will be dearly missed by her loving son, Tyler Desormeaux (Mallory); sister, Lynn Fish (Scott Stamey); aunt, Diane Jones; nieces, Jessica Brown, Morgan Hall; cousins, Crystal Cochran, Kim Hensley; great-niece, Ericka Reed; and great-nephew, Kadan Hart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard Desormeaux.
A Memorial Service for Kay will take place at 3:00PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC.
