Kenneth Gentry Gunter

Whittier – Kenneth Gentry Gunter, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Tsali Care Center.

A native of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Gentry and Esther Bryson Gunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Linda Louise Gunter and an infant daughter, Lisa Gunter. Kenneth loved driving a tractor, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was also a member of Whittier Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Gregory Gunter and wife, Erin Moran-Gunter and Michael Wayne Gunter; a daughter, Patricia Gunter; two brothers, Rod and Gary Gunter; and eight grandchildren, Savannah, Derek, Devin, Shelton, and James Gunter, Patrick Kearns, Kimberly Price, and Eliana Gunter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Reverend Christopher Nations officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. A private burial will be held.
