Kenneth Kelly Nations, age 57, of Nations Creek community, Whittier died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Nations was born November 8, 1954. He is the son of the late Seab and Gertrude (Davis) Nations and was preceded in death by Shawn and Tye Blanton and two nephews Joseph Wilkey and Kip Frizzell. Kenneth worked in the timber industry and loved to hunt and spoil his grandchildren. He was a member of Wilmot Baptist Church but attended Yellow Hill Baptist. He is survived by his wife: Lawanda (Bradley) Nations of the home; two sons Kelly and Travis and wife Crystal Nations of Whittier; a step son, David and Jennifer Blanton of Sylva; three step daughters, Jamie Blanton of Cherokee, Debbie and husband David Pruitt of Whittier, and Barbara and husband Ira Jones of Whittier; one brother Jimmy Nations of Whittier; three sisters Judy Wilkey of Dillsboro, Linda Byerly of Lexington, NC, and Nancy Rhodes of Whittier; 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday morning in the Yellow Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Foreman Bradley, Rev. Jason Bradley and Rev. Ricky Conner officiating, burial will follow in Nations Creek Cemetery. The body will be placed in Yellow Baptist Church at 6:00 P.M.
