Kimberly Deitz Edwards

Kimberly Deitz Edwards, a longtime resident of Jackson County, passed away in Mars Hill on March 19, 2026 after battling cancer. During her years in Jackson county she was employed at Eastgate Pharmacy, NCDOT, WCU, and Sylva Bakery Outlet. Born February 10, 1971, she was the daughter of Mary Cabe Murray of Mars Hill and the late Raymond Deitz. Kimberly was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Arthur and Daisie Cabe and paternal grandparents Alvin and Ida Deitz. She is survived by her stepmother Patsy Deitz of Sylva, siblings Cindy Westall (Alex) of Boiling Springs SC, Doug Deitz (Janet) of Burnsville NC, and stepbrother Greg Ensley of Sylva, plus lots of extended family. Special thanks go to Michelle and Chad Cabe for caring for Kim in their home as well as transporting her to all appointments including daily radiation treatments. Also, we would like to thank Sandra Noble for her care of Kim during her illness.

There will be a celebration of life for Kim at Faith Baptist Church on 714 Webster Road Sylva on April 11th at 2 pm, immediately following there will be a visitation in the fellowship hall.
