Lester Sorrells

Lester Sorrells, 75, of Walnut Cove, NC, formerly of Sylva, passed away Thursday July 23, 2015. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late William and Lozie Cobb Sorrells. He loved woodworking, gardening, selling produce and most of all, spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Arlene Passmore Sorrells and by his brother Eldon Sorrells. He is survived by 2 Daughters- Rhonda Blankenship of Asheboro Connie Gaddy of Walnut Cove, NC 6 Grandchildren- Travis Gaddy, Evelyn Molina, Jacob Blankenship, Aubrey Blankenship, Paige Blankenship and Angie Doty 7 Great Grandchildren Brother- Raymond Sorrells of Cullowhee 3 Sisters- Edna Carpenter of Sylva, Mary Buchanan of Sylva and Edith Brooks of Franklin Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday July 25 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Keith Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery .
