Linda Sue Phillips, of Tucker, GA, passed away on Friday, April 19th, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on Tuesday, February 27th, 1940, in Jackson County, NC. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren: Michael and Johnathan Phillips Castrillon of Astoria, NY; Bryan, Pam, and Owen Phillips of Peachtree City, GA; and Jason, Kimberly, Madilyn, and Lyla Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edith Queen, her brother, Jimmy Queen, and her husband of 53 years, Robert Phillips.
Linda was a skilled surgical RN. She trained at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She was voted Class Pest of 1958 and was known for her love of dogs, sports, travel, history, old westerns, finding a good bargain, and disco dancing. Above all, Linda cherished her children and grandchildren and always put their needs above her own.
A Funeral Service for Linda will be held at 1:00PM, on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC. Interment will follow at Locust Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Linda's memory. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
