Marcella Fay Sellers

Marcella Fay Sellers, 71, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 30^th, 2024, at Skyland Care Center.  Marcella was a life-long resident of Jackson County born to the late Verlon Coleman and Irene Jenkins Sellers on March 15, 1953.  

In addition to her parents, Marcella is preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Sellers.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Sellers; her nephew, Kevin (Tabitha) Sellers; her niece, Kristen (John) Smith; three great-nieces, Kelli (John) Chasteen; Allie Smith and Zoey Smith; her great-nephew, Jadden (Peyton) Smith; and her great-great Nephew, Peyton Chasteen.   Marcella is also survived by special friends John Cannon, Dan Deakin, Margaret Spilker, Shelly Muncy, and her beloved dogs Mollie and Susie.  

Marcella began her career making beautiful flower arrangements at Sellers and Fisher Flower Shop in Sylva, then moved to Rainbow Florist in Dillsboro working there after it transitioned to Rays Florist. She obtained her associate degree in accounting from SCC in 1995 and began working for Webster Enterprises as Director of Administration until 2013 when she became unable to work.  

Marcella loved going out to eat with friends, watching her dogs play, genealogy, reading, drawing, and writing stories and poetry.  

The family would like to say a special thank you to Harris Regional Hospital doctors, nurses and staff, EMS, Home Health, Skyland Care Center and Meals on Wheels for their continual dedication and quality care for Marcella.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11^th, 2024, from 1:00-2:00pm at Appalachian Funeral Home with service to follow at 2:00pm, Reverend Roger Stewman will be officiating the service. Interment will be at Keener Cemetery.  Pallbearers are John Smith, Jadden Smith, Dick Sellers, Anthony Walker, John Cannon and Dan Deakin.  Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Sellers, Kevin Sellers, Ronnie Gass, Wayne Burrell and David Walker.
