Margaret Virginia Conner

Margaret Virginia Mathis Conner, "Mamaw", 96. of Sylva, passed away Sunday Evening June 13, 2021. A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Rosa Lee Mathis. 

She was a Member of Laurel Branch Baptist Church 

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands Peter Alexander Mathis "Elic" and Clifton Edward Conner, Sons; Cecil Timber Mathis (Brenda) and Kenneth David Mathis "Elic" (Kathy), Daughters; Linda Bowers (Nelson) and Brenda Harris (William). 

She is survived by her daughters; Minnie Lee Mathis Haney (Gary) and Rosemary Conner

17 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 25 Great Great Grandchildren also survive, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held 3:00 PM Friday June 18, 2021 at Old Field Cemetery on Cope Creek. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 prior to the graveside at the Funeral Home.
