A Life Remembered and Cherished
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Marjo Phillips, who departed this life on November 24th , 2025, at the age of 79. Marjo was a cherished mother and grandmother, remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends.
Born on October 10th, 1946, in West Virginia, Marjo lived a full and meaningful life. She married her late husband, Max Phillips, and together they owned and operated a cabinet shop in Sylva, North Carolina. She later worked at Walmart for 16 years where she made many friends and made many people smile.
Marjo is survived by her daughter, Amy Sams, Her son, Bob and his wife, Michelle Hackman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimber (Mike) Brown, Bobby (Dani) Hackman, Trevor (Morgan) Smith and Ashlyn Sams, and her Great grandchildren, Ryder Buchanan and Nova Hackman and her siblings who will forever cherish the precious memories shared together. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Max Phillips and her siblings who passed before her.
Those who knew Marjo will remember her passion for her family, as well as her infectious laughter and compassionate spirit. She was always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
No services will be held at this time. The family asks for thoughts and prayers at this time.
Marjo will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
