Marvin Kenneth Bumgarner

Hubert- Marvin Kenneth Bumgarner, 72, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with his wife by his side. 

He was born June 19, 1954, in Cullowhee, NC a son to the late James and Marie Bryson Bumgerner.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Marvin was a sanitation operator with Western Carolina University for 22 years. He greatly enjoyed the mountains and the coast and after his retirement he and his wife followed their daughter to the coast of NC where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Regina Bumgarner of the home; children, Brandon Blankenship of Dillsboro, NC and Miranda Blankenship of Hubert; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Brenda Extine of Cullowhee and Sandra Wood of Sylva.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Linda Neal, Wanda Buchanan, and Carl and Jimed Bumgarner.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
