Mary Jo Cagle

Mary Jo Cagle, 88, of Sylva, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025, after a brief illness at Harris Regional Hospital.

Mary Jo was born in Sylva, NC to the late Joe Marion and Bessie Locust Ashe. And was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Rayburn A. Cagle and her sister Betty Ashe Gentry Luker.

Mary Jo enjoyed gardening, watching westerns, and traveling. Most of which she did while driving an 18-wheeler.

Mary Jo is survived by her son, Rickey Dean Fisher, and daughter Maggie Cagle Wilkes (Benny), six grandchildren, Travis, Kevin, Emily, Marcus, Benjamin, and Leandra, 11 great-grandchildren, a nephew, Johnny (Annette), and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at noon, Monday, May 5th, at Balsam Baptist Church, with the funeral to follow at 1:00 with the Reverand Lee Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
